If you're serious about understanding how Neural Networks work (Feedforward NN), then this book is a must have. It is a one of a kind resource in terms of the mathematical width and depth that is contained related to the topic.

It goes deeply into the mathematical reasoning and theorems that make NN learn and provides some sample Matlab code that can add to your understanding on implementation.

This book is not for everyone, you need to like and understand calculus to some degree to be able to follow it. This is a great acquisition if your interest is to gain a graduate course level understanding on the subject.

Great for practical applications

This book provides a nice balance of math, examples, and MATLAB computer. It was of great help for me to understand and code up my own forms of ANNs. The example code provided is a really nice feature. It also puts a great deal of emphasis on relating statistics with ANNs.

Ok, so maybe I was amped up about this read cause of the reviews but to me it was just ok... I mean his story was very original well atleast I haven't read it before BUT it was up and down as in sometimes I wanted to keep reading and other times I just wanted to put the book down. I'm a huge wahida fan so i had more expectations, but to each it's own- it was ok I'm not in a rush to read part 2...

Trust No Man by Cash explores the world of snitches, whores, and gang-bangers. Close your eyes and you will see these images in many of our backyards, or places we have visited or where we grew up. Terrance aka Youngblood is the main character in this urban fiction story. We are given his story in detail from growing up in the hood to him finding where he fits in; in the scheme of things. Youngblood hangs around old heads or OGs trying to pick up their tales of the street when they used to slang and never got caught up. Youngblood is a strong-minded individual like many of the young men of today; however, he gets caught up in trying to come up and becomes a stick-up kid.

Plotting against rival bangers and drug dealers Youngblood is trying to make his name ring bells in the street. Hooking up with different women and flossing his wealth will only lead him in two places--dead or in jail. After doing an extensive bid, Youngblood fathers multiple children, gets shot numerous times, and becomes a well-known killer. Will Youngblood turn his life around before it is too late, or have the streets already claimed his soul?

The beginning of this story was very typical of all urban fiction books, but it had a twinge of something different and held me captive, anticipating what would happen next. When I got to the end of the book, I was saddened and a little confused. With the help of additional editing, this story could have flowed much smoother. I recommend this book to readers of urban lit.

Money Power Respect...

Sometimes the dirt you do in the streets comes back to haunt you in the worse way. The streets can welcome you and desert you in the same breath. Terrance (a.k.a. Youngblood) knew only one thing...the streets. Youngblood was a stick-up kid who lived by the code of the streets: Loyalty and Respect. But circumstances change Youngblood's mindset when he's put in situations involving matters of the heart. Baby mama drama is no stranger to Youngblood, and the women he chooses to deal with could cost him his chances of stacking his paper. After a stint in prison, Youngblood needs to rebuild his empire, but will the choices he makes cost him his chance of being on top?

Shan is Youngblood's baby mother, and the rules of the street is that Shan is suppose to hold her man down no matter what the situation is and stay away from her man's friends. When Youngblood is sentenced to a short stint in prison, Shan does the exact opposite. Her legs stay open like a 24 hour store, and the ultimate betrayal comes when she sleeps with her man's partner and friend and is now carrying his child. A chain reaction causes Shan to reevaluate the choices she makes. Will Shan straighten up and be a mother to her child, or will she reap what she sows and suffer the consequences?

Lonnie was Youngblood's partner and mentor. Lonnie bought Youngblood in the game and schooled him as a big brother. When Youngblood was sixteen years old, Lonnie put him on, and their bond was thicker than thieves. Loyalty was the code they lived by. Lonnie and Youngblood looked out for each other, did dirt together and through it all, their relationship remain true. When Youngblood is released from prison, Lonnie introduces him back into the only life he is accustomed to and what is guaranteed to bring in money fast. But when Youngblood accepts side deals from others outside of their circle, could those choices cause there relationship to be tested?

Trust No Man was a book I definitely couldn't put down. The struggles this young man endured related to the many challenges we all face in life. Do you choose the straight and narrow life, or do you chose the life that can get you enemies, jail time, and or even killed? Youngblood was no nonsense, but through it all he wanted to be involved in his children's life. I think that Cash is right on point with the portrayal of the struggles that a lot of young African-American women and men go through. The choices you make and the enemies you create by doing dirt can cause you a lot heartache and pain in your life. The characters were ones that everyone could relate to, either on a personal level or just from different situations and struggles we have all encountered one time or another. I cannot wait to read Trust No Man Part 2.

All in all this was a good romance but I was unhappy with a couple of elements in the story. There are SPOILERS ahead but I will continue for those who might have the same issues. First, I kept hoping that the Lady our hero was betrothed to would turn out to somehow be unworthy of him to justify his jilting her. She didn't and she was left broken hearted at the story's end. Second, the hero went on and on about how beautiful the heroine was and since his fiancee was also beautiful, it was clear he just preferred bigger breasts. Bottom line it had to be the sex. Third, the hero felt that the heroine really understood him, but his own fiancee seemed to be just as understanding. I hate that the author gave no good reason for the hero's defection of affection. Perhaps these issues are addressed in the next book in the series but this one left me a little dissatisfied.

First, I was jerked out of the story by the use of the word THEN when what the author really meant was THAN. This is particular pet peeve of mine and I find it unforgivable.
SPOILER ALERT
In the last half of the book, twice references to the attempted kidnapping referred to the "night you went to the theater". The attempted kidnapping did NOT happen on the night they went to the theater; it happened the night they went dancing at Almack's. Such mistakes distract from the story and destroy my enjoyment in reading.
Otherwise, I enjoyed the story and found the H and h likeable people who I hoped would find their way to happiness together.

A bit tedious

There are moments where you're actually interested in the characters, but overall, the whole series is just...fraught. None of the characters seem to have any strong traits, so their emotions are just buffetted back and forth, sometimes multiple times per paragraph. It's wishy-washy, exhausting, and not compelling in the least. I finished this one, but I'm struggling with the 2nd of the series. Just a slog to get through!

This book written by Paul Segal is what he teaches from in his seminars on professional practice. The book is oriented towards Master of Architecture students, and is an attempt to prepare them for the realities of working in an office or running a firm. It is written very much as he speaks, with funny anecdotes and a casual style. Segal has many years of experience working and teaching, but is also current with new trends in the profession. The book covers things like contracts, fees, marketing, and insurance.

I found it helpful, and a much less dry read than other books on similar topics (a textbook that reads more like a conversation). The thing I like the most about this book is how he tries to explain how these concepts are relevant, and what the advantages and disadvantages of various business models are for the architect. It's not so interesting however, that I would bother reading this book if I wasn't wanting to become a licensed architect.

It tells you step by step what to do and who to talk to and the different engineers you'll need along with percentages on prices. Hands down a great guide to getting real project built.

Absolutely Brilliant!

I have to admit, Ms. Joren had me at the first line of the blurb. Then, when I began reading the actual story, it didn't take long to understand what a masterful (see what I did there?) grasp of brilliantly polished prose the author has. Quite aside from the intriguing plot, the beauty of the language is a real treat, whether you find the situation in the story dangerous or titillating, or even humorous. For me, there are flashes of all three, but I'm happy to suspend my practical side and mentally urge Eva to relax and enjoy her predicament.

Hex is HOT, HOT, HOT, even if maddeningly mysterious and high handed. That's how we like our alphas, right? And Eva--love her spunk and sassy outbursts. Her insecurities about her body are so on point that, while I can't quite see Hex's motivations, I must applaud his campaign to save her from herself.

The sensual scenes are intense enough to leave the reader breathless, completely fresh and without the trite mechanics that mar so much erotic romance. Read it for those alone if you must, but read it!

I cannot wait for the next part of this serial! Please, please make it soon.

I'm SO Hooked

Eva Bright is a twenty-something gal with her share of secrets, including an on-line relationship that she thinks she has under control. Hah! Not so, as it turns out. One day, our plucky heroine comes home to discover she's not nearly alone as she thought. Thus begins the hauntingly sensual tale of Eva and Hex -- a super-hot man of mystery with secrets of his own.

Right away, I was hooked into the story and not only because of the compelling plot which unfolds at the perfect pace. Eva has just the right amount of spunk and vulnerability that had me rooting for her from the get-go. But there's the rub (literally as it turns out). Because what DOES Eva really want? To escape Hex's mysterious clutches? Or to give in to the sensations she secretly craves?

This book has so many elements to love. We have a budding dark romance, lots of sensual tension, scenes that are nice and spicy, and splashes of humor and insight that really made this book shine. With such an intriguing premise and terrific characters, I couldn't put this book down. And now, I can't wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds. Loved it! This one was definitely a keeper!

Delicious and sexy.

At the end I felt enraptured by it all; the last scene was just beautifully erotic and deliciously moving. Downside? There's a part 2 and 3, and I don't do 'series', well; they usually aren't as good as the first part, so I feel anxious about reading it. Of course I must, after this excellent piece of writing; just hope it does not spoil this part, is all.

I have never read anything by this author before, and I think she is a great writer. Her words are like poetry in some parts; just beautiful. In others she is full of witty asides; mostly delivered by the loquacious Eva.

I love her protagonists, Hex and Eva. I found the premise for the story to be original and different, and the plot with it's frisson of danger, really interesting. Hex is a brilliant Alp: strong, sexy, smart, kind, and just a little domineering. Eva is brilliant too; she is smart, sassy but full of pain and secrets.

"He broke into your house. He drugged you. He's probably going rape, kill, and eat you, not necessarily in that order. And you're worried about being overweight? Holy s***. You're crazier than he is."

"If he decided to torture me with stretching, I'd break in half before reaching the five-foot-nine I'd claimed to be."

I hope Hex can fix her, and more will be revealed in part two and three. Hex also is a man full of secrets, and I can't wait to find out what makes him tick. Hopefully, part 3 will give me my HEA.

""Because you're so sweet and so twisted and so smart and so blind, all at once," he said. "Because you thrill me, against my better judgment."

""I can't change what you see, but I can change where you look for what's real," he said. "I'm your true mirror, Eva. I'm reflecting back at you right now, but you don't even see it."

I would certainly recommend at least this part to fellow lovers of dark erotica. I read elsewhere where someone commented that it wasn't 'dark'; well it was for me. Not THE darkest but again enough for me.

There are too many things left hanging; where does the Alp go as he is mostly absent? What's he up to? Needs more!!

Don't be confused by the title. It's said to be a good book for statistics in all area.
