Great read!

This book was such a joy to read. This is book 6 in the "Oklahoma Lovers series" a series that I highly recommend reading. The first book A Run for Love is the story of Jesse and Tori Cochran Priscilla's parents. Priscilla has moved hundreds of miles from home to become the teacher in Dogtown, Colorado makes very excited for her new adventure and if it gets her away from her smuthering, overbearing and loving family.
Mitch Beaumont is waiting for the mail coach to get to town so he and the mayor can't get the mature experienced teach they've hired. The town has been with a teacher since the last one retired.
The closer Priscilla gets to town the more guilty she feels about stretching the truth about herself but she's sure she's right for the job. The minute she gets of the coach and meets Mitch Beaumont he tells her to turnaround, get back on the coach and go home. She'd lied on the contract and being so young and beautiful she will hightail it out of there as soon as she can, just like the last replacement teacher. Priscilla tells him she's here to stay and every time Mitch can he makes it known he thinks she'll leave.
Priscilla might be young but she's strong willed and very smart and she's vowed to maker her way in the world. Mitch has raised his son since the day he was born and his wife died. He thinks his life couldn't get any better he's a successful businessman in a town he's vowed to see prosper and a son he loves. What he doesn't need is a beautiful, sassy and headstrong teach proving him wrong at ever turn.

I absolutely love the Oklahoma Lovers series by Callie Hutton

I absolutely love the Oklahoma Lovers series by Callie Hutton. This book was no exception. I started reading it and could not put it down until the end. There is something romantic to me about the historic west and simpler times. Priscilla and Mitch have an up-and-down relationship as they explore each other's past. Neither one is as they seem at face value.

While a reader does not need to be familiar with the other books in the Oklahoma Lovers series first, I am glad that I had the other books read. This book was like going home to close friends, and spending time catching up on old times that I'd missed between the last book and this one. Callie Hutton is a talented author who draws the reader in and holds one's attention throughout. It's nice to have the consistency of knowing her story is going to be one that I can't put down until the very last word.

This story was a good read I just like more historical romance farther back like the 1800's but it was a good book just not the time period I like most. I love Callie Hutton books and can't wait for her next one.

Hilarious and true

If you know a Trustafarian, this handbook is for you. If you do NOT know a Trustafarian, this invaluable tome will help you hunt down, identify and communicate with this rare breed of human being who possesses the ability both to fund your next summer's Phish tour, and to take you to their modest mansion in Aspen next winter...

Beg, borrow and buy this book. Better yet, have mom & dad buy it for you for a holiday, or for no reason at all. You'll learn about nap culture, dreadlock philosophy and how not to lose your stipends!

And at the end of it all, if you have learned something about Trustafarian ways, you'll stretch out in the 1000-thread count sheets in someone else's king-size bed, and go back to sleep.

THE TOWN I MOVED TO HAS THESE PEOPLE BY THE HUNDREDS BMW DRIVING, DREAD LOCK WEARING COFFEE LOVING NIGHTMARES. WHOLE FOODS LOVES THESE PEOPLE.

Hilarious, brilliant, only a stupid trustafarian wouldn't like it!

This book is a great read for those acquainted with the breed known as trustafarians who have become a sad and cliched byproduct of an entitled society. The author makes hilarious comments on their attempts to start businesses, etc. I laughed aloud many a time. The pot references were also completely spot on. The culture around drugs and kids who are given monthly stipend is legendary in certain cities around the country where the trustafarians settle in droves.
Moms, dads and grandparents need to cut these kids off! Maybe then they'll gain some character and a much needed reality check. Actually there is a dark side as well; kids who are constantly supported in this manner can become leeches and not even realize-or ignore the deleterious effect this lifestyle can have on their self esteem and personal growth. They can see money as the end all and give up everything for it-including personal relationships within the family.
If you don't like this review, I'm thinking you are a trustafarian yourself!

About the Author
Deborah E. Bouchoux, J.D., is an adjunct faculty member of Georgetown University, where she teaches a variety of topics in the Paralegal Studies Program and serves on the program's advisory board. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law and a member of the State Bar of California (inactive) and District of Columbia Bar (active). She has taught in a number of paralegal programs, including the University of San Diego Paralegal Program and the Paralegal Studies Program at George Washington University. She is the author of nine textbooks in the paralegal field and several articles in national and local paralegal publications.

This is one of the best textbooks I have ever read - I savored every word! Trust me, you should buy it.

It discusses the federal and state court systems; statutory law; case law; digests; A.L.R.; legal encyclopedias, periodicals, treatises, and restatements; proper Bluebook and ALWD citation; Shepardizing (an enitre chapter); how to use both Lexis and Westlaw; and useful instructions on how to write legal correspondence, legal memorandums, and briefs.

I have a BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley and am currently enrolled in the ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate program at San Francisco State.

This book was assigned for my Legal Research & Writing class, but it explained the basic principles of the state and federal court systems much better than the textbook that was assigned for my Intro to Law/Civil Procedure class.

The professor who assigned the book also teaches at a well-known law school and told our class that she wishes that she could assign it there as well, but is not the key decision maker.

I am a writer, so I assumed that the chapters on legal writing were going to be boring and I planned to skip them. To my surprise, I learned a lot.

I spent the whole day today in a law library working on a homework assignment. I keep thinking to myself how grateful I was to the author for writing this book because it helped me tremendously with the assignment. I am going to research how I can contact her to thank her!!!

If you are planning to attend Paralegal or Law school I recommend that you read this book to help prepare yourself. It covers all of the basics.

Almost impossible to read

It is almost impossible to stay awake reading this book. The prose is extremely dry and long-winded. I've had much better luck with online legal research tutorials; because of the nature of the Web, the information is much more concise and readable.

True Recipes to the Creole Heritage

Hailing from New Orleans and cooking for over 40 years I can appreciate the recipes in this book. Most people in this world are unaware of the difference between Creole and Cajun. Creole was a style of cooking before the Cajuns ever came to Louisiana. A mix of French, Spanish, African and Caribbean cooking, Creole has a flare all its' own. Excellent old style New Orleans recipes that are true to the New Orleans Creole heritage.

Some may find the recipes a bit hard to follow as they do not generally adhere to the "modern" format that most recipes now follow, but it is interesting and the results are truly wonderful.

From the Author
On a cool Fall morning in 1952, Marlene was born in the city of Montreal and she is the third to the youngest of seven children (The Pacholka Family). She grew up in the suburbs of Chateauguay, Quebec, Canada and loved the outdoors. She joined the local girl's hockey team, played baseball in the summer and learned ballet, piano, and sang in the choir. She learned to love music and read books from an early age reading 2-3 books a week thinking someday she would love to get involved in her own novel.
Her mother, Margaret Pacholka, was a school teacher for many years and she taught 4 grades in one class in French and English. She dedicates her accomplishments to her, because she always taught her to read from an early age. Her father worked in aerospace for most of his life, and in 1965 they moved to California. She followed his footsteps and worked in aerospace for almost ten years. She dedicates her enthusiasm to live life to its fullest from her dad. She then went into the finance industry and studied business and law at La Verne University. She has two lovely children Dan and Michelle, and one grandchild who have made her very proud that she holds close to her heart. 

She presently owns the book Galaxy Watch The Galacteran Legacy (on Amazon) authored by Michelle Izmaylov that financing has been arranged for the screenplay written by Marlene Mendoza and G. R. Holton. It is scheduled for after "The Mob" movie now in pre-production scheduled for release late 2014 or early 2015. 

Marlene Mendoza is a film producer with Gilt Entertainment. She has a Master's of Science in Management (Leadership), (Summa cum Laude 4.0) and a Bachelor's of Science in Management (Sales and Marketing). She is a Certified Risk Management Specialist.

Her company Gilt Entertainment is an independent global film and television development, high end story and production company. They have a strong diversified presence in motion picture production, and digital distribution for home and family entertainment. 

The book "The Mob" is a collaboration of the works written by Marlene Mendoza and G. R. Holton based on research, past events using fictional characters based on 1920's and 30's era. It took many hours of editing to finalized the final version based off our screenplay "The Mob" to be released in later 2014 or 2015. @giltentertain 

About the Author
On a warm summer morning in 1962, G. R. Holton was born in a little town in Massachusetts. He is now happily married and living in eastern Tennessee with his wife Charlotte, his mom, and the family dog Pugston. He has two daughters, one son, a step-daughter, and a step-son. He is also blessed with four beautiful granddaughters. Becoming fully disabled due to Bipolar Disorder and after reading some screenplays for a friend, he knew what had to be done. The Mob

Maria is the apple of her father's eye from the moment she enters the world in 1915. With each passing year, she grows closer to the man and an unbreakable bond forms between the two. So when, at the age of ten, she sees her father brutally gunned down on the steps to their apartment building, she knows what she must do. Even at that young age, she knows she must, and will, avenge his death; for she has seen the face of the killer. One has to wonder what plans she is forming as she grows into womanhood.

GR Holton and Marlene Mendoza spin an interesting tale; one of corruption during the prohibition years and the mob's continued dirty dealings into the thirties.

An amazing ride

The Mob will keep you on the edge of your seat as you read and find out just how she's going to repay the mob for her father's death. If you're looking for a story that will keep you turning pages as you wait to see how all the intricately laid lines come together, this is the book for you. Highly recommended.

Best book i have read in some time

I am a big fan of books about the Mob. This is one of the best books i have read since The Godfather. This book kept my attention from start to finish. The ending was bittersweet ....sad and happy at the same time. This author is amazing. I am looking forward to reading more of his books. Not only is the author a great author, he has become a very good friend of mine. I highly recommend this book that is a fan of any books dealing with the mob.
