About the Author
Wayne L. Winston is Professor Emeritus of Decision Sciences at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and is now a Professor of Decision and Information Sciences at the Bauer College at the University of Houston. He has won more than 45 teaching awards, including the school-wide MBA award six times. His current interest is in showing how spreadsheet models can be used to solve business problems in all disciplines, particularly in finance, sports, and marketing. In addition to publishing more than 20 articles in leading journals, Dr. Winston has written such successful textbooks as OPERATIONS RESEARCH: APPLICATIONS AND ALGORITHMS, MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING: APPLICATIONS AND ALGORITHMS, SIMULATION MODELING WITH @RISK, DATA ANALYSIS FOR MANAGERS, SPREADSHEET MODELING AND APPLICATIONS, MATHLETICS, DATA ANALYSIS AND BUSINESS MODELING WITH EXCEL 2013, MARKETING ANALYTICS, and FINANCIAL MODELS USING SIMULATION AND OPTIMIZATION. He received his B.S. degree in mathematics from MIT and his Ph.D. in operations research from Yale.

From deterministic and simple linear programming to stochastic systems such as queueing models or dynamic programming, you may read and "learn" lots of things about OR. However, for stochastic cases you will need extra help for its matematics. But if you want to learn something about industrial engineering or something related with it, that is the book you must buy.

About the Author
Until his death in 2015, S. Barry Cooper was Professor of Mathematical Logic at the University of Leeds. He was both a leading figure in the theory of Turing computability, and a noted advocate of multidisciplinary research, especially in connection with the theoretical and practical limits of the computable. As President of Computability in Europe, he was responsible for many international conferences. He chaired the Turing Centenary Committee, and edited the prize-winning critical edition of Turing's publications: Alan Turing: His Work and Impact.

Andrew Hodges is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. His main research is in fundamental physics, as a colleague of Roger Penrose, but he is also the biographer of Alan Turing. The Heart of a Frustrated Woman

In most societies in this world, it is a positive to be born a man. Being born a man will automatically give a person more chances in life than being a woman. 'Memoirs of a Woman Doctor' is the story of an Egyptian girl planning to become a doctor. She lives in a society where a woman's chances of climbing the socio-economic ladder are slim to none. Being the only woman in her medical school, she constantly tries to denegrate men and sometimes scolds humanity in general. She feels men are not the "Gods" that her mother thought they were. She tries to rationalize humanity, saying they are no better than animals. In all this time, she seems to have no attachment to humanity; all she seems to care about are her studies and her career. The ending of the book can be interperted in two ways. Some will feel it is a cop out (like I did) and others will feel she learned a very important lesson about this life. Nonetheless, it is a facinating read into the heart and mind of a smart, but frustrated woman living in a socitey dominated my males.

Great Lessons

A friend asked if I would give her young daughters (ages 5 and 9) vocal lessons. I am very musical but not trained in music education, so it was important to me to find a program that could walk me though teaching voice. This book was a great help! The lessons are fun and teach key components of singing such as correct posture, correct breathing, matching pitch, etc. It uses physical movements to help teach the concepts. The free downloadable CD tracks were also very helpful. I highly recommend this product.

a valuable resource for teaching very young children to sing!

As a voice teacher I can highly recommend this and the next book in the series. This resource is very valuable for little children( age 4 and up) who want to sing but have undeveloped ear. Exercises in this book are geared towards developing good breathing techniques, overall intonation, (matching tones sung by by teacher, exploring the range of the kids voices). Mister Blankenbehler, please, we need a book like these for the teens!

I am really enjoying the Little Singers Level A book. It serves as a coloring activity book for students to enjoy at home. The online recordings are also a useful tool in lessons. You can download them for free from the website, and put them on CD's for students to listen to and practice at home.
